ALBANY, N. Y.-(FP) - New state minimum wage levels in the hotel, restaurant, cleaning and dyeing and confectionery industries have gone into effect in New York state.
The order provides payment of up to 51c an hour for workers in year-round hotels and weekly standards up to $22 in resort establishments. Restaurant workers are to receive minimum hourly rates up to 52c, with variations in proportion to the size of the communities. The cleaning and dyeing and confectionery industries are ordered to pay a minimum of 57½c hourly with time-and-a-half for overtime.
