Japs Make Futile Effort At New Guinea

Allied Headquarters in Australia, Nov. 22 (AP) - Monday - The Japanese lost one destroyer, 19 planes and two small landing craft Sunday in a futile eleventh hour effort to break the stranglehold of Allied ground and air forces, tightening relentlessly around the weakened but still hard hitting Nipponese on the northeastern New Guinea coast.

Latest reports said the Allies are attacking Buna Mission, 1 mile from Buna, and the main landing field on the outskirts.
