Are Given Tests
To Check Vision
Students of the Harris Elementary School have been given the Massachusetts Vision Test during the school year 1956-1957. Approximately 28 children were found in need of further examination by an eye doctor.
Notices were sent home to the parents of these children and 98 per cent of them responded to these notifications and saw to it that their children received further examination and necessary treatment.
Mrs. Charles Grant and her committee conducted the tests in cooperation with the Public Health Nurse, Jeanette Sawyer. The committee working on this test consisted of Mrs. C.B. Pitchford, Mrs. S. Earl Ethridge, Mrs. Charles Thompson, Mrs. Alvin Gates, Mrs. Kenneth Loecke, Mrs. John Kelly and Mrs. Charles Patton.
The vision tests are conducted yearly at this school.
