Hagen Points Out
Members of the Valley Volunteer Fire Association in past years have found that their membership fee is well worth while, Al Hagen of the Association said this week.
As evidence of that fact, Mr. Hagen presented two letters, excerpts from which are reprinted below.
Both of them were received from Association members who suffered home fires in the past year.
"We would like to express our thanks to the Fire Association for prompt arrival at our fire, and the method with which firemen discharged their duties.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben F. Steele."
"I want to thank the entire group of volunteers for its prompt action in connection with the fire at my farm last week. I was very much impressed at the speed with which equipment got here, and was very grateful for its help.
"It is rather a tribute to the reputation of your group that the fire, at the sound of the approaching engines, gave up without a struggle and was only a mass of smouldering smoke when you arrived. It could have been far different."
Sincerely,
V. Louise Kellogg.
The annual membership dues of the Valley Volunteer Fire Association lapsed on July 1, Mr. Hogan reminded. The 1950 dues are delinquent now, and members should lose no time in renewing their memberships.
Contributions and fees may be forwarded to Mr. Hagen.
