Full Text

Paying for Being Drunk.

That stalwart, liquor-loving savage, "Whisky Bob," is paying dearly for his last drunk. He was sentenced by Justice Osborn to ten days' imprisonment in the county jail, and is compelled by the Sheriff to work in the court house yard, assisting in planting trees, digging irrigating ditches, etc. During his term of imprisonment his only child died, and his squaw now spends the greater part of her time with him. Although offered liberty if he would tell who sold him whisky, he persistently refuses to do so, and prefers serving out his sentence to divulging that, to him, great secret.
