Wagner Urges Long Time National Housing Program

New York City (ILNS)-Sen. Robert Wagner pleaded for "a long-time, centralized, and co-ordinated housing program" in a speech broadcast to the National Housing Conference here.

He advocated a housing program which would operate in depressions as well as in good times.

"It should not interfere with legitimate private initiative, but at the same time it should insure low enough interest rates and other costs to provide comfortable housing for those who need help most," he said.
