Full Text

Two mercantile houses in Philadelphia, aided by others in Amsterdam, have already fixed houses in St. Augustine, and are to have extensive warehouses for the purpose of supplying some parts of South-America with baizes and other woolens, which have heretofore been sent from England by way of Cadiz, and thence in the register-ships to Cathagena, Porto-Bello, and other places.

It is supposed, by this plan established under very certain credits, and approved by the Spanish Government, that the inhabitants of South America can be supplied not only on much easier terms with the manufactures of Great-Britain, but that the returns to the vendor for those articles may be obtained in one half the time.
