NASHVILLE Tenn. -(SNS)- H. B "Bus" Thompson, football and basketball coach at Fisk, has been appointed Director of Athletics at the University by President Charles Johnson to succeed the late H. A. "Tubby" Johnson who died in May.
The new athletic director, All-American half-back at Bluefield State College 1934-1936, came to Fisk from Morris Brown College where, in addition to being Head of the Department of Physical Education, coached the basketball team to two successive SIAC championships in 1948.
Since being at Fisk his football teams have won 23 and lost 9 games for a .719 average and his basketball teams have won 46 and lost 28.
