CORN CROP IS DESTROYED HALF

It is estimated that the recent floods have damaged the corn crop of the valley at least 50 per cent. It was believed, owing to the enormous crop that was being produced that corn would sell in this valley or, as low as 45c a bushel. The consensus of opinion now is that regular prices will prevail and that corn will open at the usual price, 65c. Many farmers are turning their hogs into their fields to fatten on the corn which has been laid down in the mud.
