Cadets To Play State Eleven On Nov. 16; Other Changes Are Made
RICHMOND, Va., April 12.-(AP) Glenn F. Thistlethwaite, University of Richmond athletic director, announced today that the Rich-mond-Citadel football game scheduled for Nov. 16 had been cancelled by mutual consent.
Indications that the early Thanksgiving will be observed again next fall led to a revision of the schedules of four colleges and will make possible an idle Saturday for both Richmond and William and Mary in preparation for their scrimmage game, Thistlethwaite said.
William and Mary, which had scheduled a game with North Carolina State for Nov. 16 has shifted that contest to September.
The Indians' action left N. C. State without a Nov. 16 opponent and when the Spiders and the South Carolinians cancelled their scheduled meeting, The Citadel arranged for a game with N. C. State at Charleston on the vacated date
"It all sounds very complicated." said the Richmond mentor, "but everybody's happy now. Both William and Mary and Richmond have been excused from their Nov. 16 contests and both The Citadel and N. C. State have filled their vacated date by playing each other."
