The speaker urged the students to obey the laws of the school, the city and the country. Giving numerous illustrations of leadership as a result of their adhering to the laws which have been set before them, he suggested that those who were in a position to register and vote become qualified as soon as possible as the future will rest in the hands of those who cast the ballot. The exercise was presided over by Mrs. J. L. Butler, efficient principal of the school, who also gave interesting remarks in regards to the attentiveness of the student body concerning things which would benefit them in the future. Speaking of the many opportunities which lie before them, she urged good attendance. After the program, the large group was guest at a ball honoring the president and his cabinet at the picturesque Top Hat Club. Special music for the occasion of the inauguration was rendered by Miss Florence Gilbert, who played a trumpet solo and Mr. Cardoza May of Morris Brown college.
