Event Details
Advices from Vienna indicate that without soon accommodation, a treaty will be concluded between the Emperor, Czarina, King of Poland, and Republick of Poland to drive the Turk out of Europe. The Emperor's finances are strained, leading to deduction of two months' pay from Hungarian officers not encamped this summer. Additionally, reports suggest the French aim to prevent threats to the Grand Signior beyond negotiation; despite the Emperor pacifying Spain and awaiting Madrid dispatches for general peace, the French Minister presented a memorial requiring perpetual styling of King Stanilaus as King of Poland per preliminary articles. The Emperor, surprised, replied that warranting for the Poles is impossible but he would do so for King Augustus.
