FDR Asks For Military
Man's Service On WPB

WASHINGTON, Jan. 19- (P) - The White House announced today that President Roosevelt has asked the War Department to assign Colonel Robert Johnson of the Ordnance Department to the War Production Board to serve as its vice chairman, and as chairman of the smaller war plants corporation.

This action was taken upon the recommendation of WPB Chairman Donald Nelson.

Johnson, who has been on duty in New York City, conferred with Nelson today and then returned to his headquarters.

Lou E. Holland, of Kansas City, Mo., has been chairman of the smaller war plants corporation. Nelson expressed hope he would remain as Johnson's deputy.
