Appointment of Royal V. Crist of 304 South Main Street, Middletown. Ohio. as the supervisor of the 1954 Census of Agriculture field office to be established at Hamilton was announced today by Director Robert W. Burgess of the Bureau of the Census, Department of Commerce.
Mr. Crist will direct a force of 15 crew leaders and 233 enumerators in 19 Ohio counties from the Hamilton office. The counties to be covered by Mr. Crist are Allen, Auglaize, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Darke, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Logan, Madison. Mercer. Miami, Montgomery, Preble. Shelby, Union and Warren.
Mr. Crist will report on September 6 to the permanent Census Bureau district office at Chicago for a week's training. The training will cover administrative procedures, office routine, map work, practice in filling out farm census report forms and other duties and responsibilities connected with the job.
The 1954 Census of Agriculture will provide information on the number and size of farms, acreage and harvest of crops, livestock production and inventories.. selected farm facilities and equipment, selected farm expenditures. farm values, and mortgage debt.
