HEADQUARTERS, UNITED STATES PACIFIC FLEET, Pearl Harbor, Nov. 20. (Delayed)—(U.P.)—A group of army men who landed on Guadalcanal recently with a big supply of food should have known the marines, but they got to know them the hard way.

When the troops landed, Lieut. DeWitt Peterkin, Jr., New York City, said today on his return, the marines were most solicitous for their welfare.

Especially the marines showed the troops how to dive swiftly into fox holes when an air raid alarm sounded.

When the first alarm came, the troops carried out the dive maneuver perfectly, and emerged with the all clear to find that the marines had swiped their food.
