At its meeting on Tuesday, Mrs. Helen S. McPherson, probation officer for the city of Hartford, spoke to the members of the Community Club. Mr. and Mrs. David Moore were host and hostess.
The club's annual clean-up day will be held tomorrow. All members who can come in the morning are urged to do so. Others are asked to come at one p. m. The clubhouse will be given a thorough cleaning, furniture will be repaired, and the grounds put in proper condition. Supper will be served the workers under the chairmanship of Mrs. John W. Purtill. A large attendance is requested.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stevenson were chaperones for the young people's dance held at the club last Saturday night. Mary Rourke, Robert Stevenson, Henry Kinne and Ruth Zungola were on the committee.
Next Tuesday, A. E. Wilkinson will speak on "Gardening". Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kellogg, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gilbert will be hosts and hostesses.
Plans are being made for a May party for the younger children of the club. For purposes of play at the party the children will be divided into two groups, from 6-9 years, and from 10 to 14. The committee in charge of the former consists of Mrs. R. W. Whaples, chairman; Mrs. Robert Rebman, Mrs. Robert H. Kellogg, Jr.; for the latter, Mrs. David Moore, Mrs. Louis Gilbert and Mrs. John Hale.
Parents of children under six years are requested to bring their children to the party and remain with them.
