LOCOMOTIVE SHOPS OF G. N. AT SPOKANE TO CLOSE FOR FEW DAYS

Spokane, Wash., May 21. - The locomotive department of the Great Northern railroad shops at Hillyard, which adjoins Spokane, will be closed from May 28 to July 5, company officials announced today. About 400 men are concerned, the lay-off being the same as that made several weeks ago. The reason given is lack of business on the road. The car department of the shops and the roundhouse are not affected by the orders.
