CINCINNATI:
Wednesday, January 30.

SIAMESE TWINS.
Those very interesting youths, as may be seen
by a notice in another column, are now at the
Pearl Street House. The public have heard and
read so much about these interesting twins, that
nothing we can say can add any stimulus to
curiosity. We have seen this modern Castor
and Pollux, and must confess that the interview
was both surprising and delightful. All the
world knows, or ought to know, that these two
boys, whom Nature, in one of her freaks, has so
miraculously lashed together, are natives of
Siam, though born of Chinese parents. Their
names are Chang and Eng. A bond of union,
which neither of them seems inclined to dissolve
has connected, inviolably, their temporal destinies.
Notwithstanding their practical unity, we
were surprised to hear Chang declare himself
and his brother opposed to the present administration
of our government, although he admitted
the correctness of the President's proclamation,
and declared himself and his brother Eng decidedly
opposed to the tariff system. In short,
Chang and Eng are thorough-going anti-Jackson
men; and, like most of their brother partizans,
oppose the man while they approve his measures.
They are young now, and it is to be hoped they
may repent of their political heresies ere they
return to Siam. But, let their politics be what
they may, we can safely assure our readers, that
an interview with them will more than compensate
for the twenty-five cents, which they exact
as the terms on which they grant an audience.
