(Lately mentioned) made their Escape from Montreal the 18th of May, and informed, that on the 16th the Inhabitants there were all in Tears—That the French Army before Quebec had met with three Repulses on the Plains of Abraham, and lost between 4 and 5000 Men; and that afterwards they made two Breaches in the Wall of Quebec, and attempted to storm it; but by Means of a Mask'd Battery they were repulsed with great Loss, and was obliged to raise the Siege, and were returning home—That on the 1st of June one of said Indians arrived at Albany and confirm'd the above; and that the same Day an Express arrived there from Crown-Point, and said, That a Party of ours being out on a Scout had taken a Frenchman or Indian, with a Canoe, who inform'd, that the three above Indians deserted from him and five other French and Indians, who had left Montreal in order to take a Prisoner; which said Indians at
