SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 5 (AP)—General Eugenio Martinez, former commander of the first military district in Mexico, asserted here today that he was in complete accord with President Calles of Mexico and that he hoped the present revolt would be immediately suppressed.
General Martinez denied that he had anything to do with the revolution but admitted that he had received a curt message from President Calles declining his offer to return to his post and advising him to continue his journey. Mexico City dispatches indicated that Martinez' name had been mentioned in connection with the revolt. General Martinez, accompanied by his family and a number of relatives is en route New York from where he will sail for Europe. He said that his train had met with no difficulties in northern Mexico, with the exception of a five-hour delay due to washouts.
