TWO HUNDRED WILL ATTEND ANNUAL CONFERENCE HERE DEC. 12-13: ALL SPEAKERS HAVE ACCEPTED
Following a unique plan of housing the 200 delegates from West Palm Beach to Key West on the East Coast, who will be here for the M. E. Conference, Dec. 12-13, arrangements have been concluded for room and board for 150 delegates with parishioners and friends of the Methodist churches.
Rev. Joe Tolle announced today that all speakers and preachers who have been invited to be at the conference have accepted.
Dr. Ludd M. Spivey, president of Southern College in Florida, will head the list and will deliver a Monday address. Dr. R. Z. Tyler, presiding elder in charge of the District, will be here. Rev. Garfield Evans of the Dania First Methodist Church has accepted. M. E. Church District Superintendent, Rev. Meredith, who will preach on Tuesday night, has also accepted. Dr. C. K. Vliet will also be here.
Assisting at Key West will be Rev. Joe Tolle, Rev. James Lilly, and Rev. O. C. Howell, pastors of the First Methodist, Fleming Street Methodist and Ley Memorial churches.
The delegates will arrive from noon Monday, Dec. 12, on and will be here through the following night.
"We wish Key West clubs and business houses would show appreciation of the largest assembly here in many years by placing welcome signs in their windows and stickers on their cars", Rev. Tolle said.
