Yesterday came to town two of the Gentlemen mentioned under the Cambridge head, who relate the following further particulars, viz. that the ministerial army was supposed to consist of about 6000 effective men; that they were greatly distressed, especially since the transport ship was taken by Captain Manly, which had much dispiritited them; that fuel and provisions of all sorts were exceedingly scarce, the army being at an allowance of four pounds of pork, and two loaves of bread, per week, each man; that 30 men from each company were ordered with saws and axes to cut up the wharves, meeting-house, &c. for fuel; that there were seldom any fresh provisions to be had, and that old, in sterling money, at the following prices, viz. beef per pound 1s. 6d. a sheep 5l. 2 geese 20s. salt butter 2s. 6d. rum by the hoghead 12s. and other things in proportion; that our battery at Litchmore's point is within about half a mile of Boston, and will, when finished, command a very considerable part of the town.
