Full Text

Departure of Missionaries. A favorable opportunity having occurred for a direct passage to Burmah, the Board have required the services of our two young brethren Shuck and Davenport, much earlier than had been anticipated. It is expected that they will sail from Boston about the 15th of Sept. The churches in this city are now busily engaged in preparing their outfit; and they will receive with much pleasure, any donations for this object, from the friends of the mission cause in our State.

Virginia has already furnished one native missionary of the cross; and four others are now preparing for their departure. We trust that they will be but the advanced guard of a mighty army; and we also hope that our churches will evince a corresponding liberality in sustaining them. Rel. Her.
