Full Text

A Runaway Scrape.

There was a fearful runaway scrape, up town yesterday, which, for the want of space we could not refer to. The horse attached to Messrs. Davidson & Wood's buggy became frightened at some object on Twentieth street, and jumping on the inside of the sidewalk, dashed down the street at a break-neck pace, one wheel of the vehicle being on the sidewalk, and the other against Mrs. J's fence. Reaching the point of intersection of the Twentieth street and Washington avenue sidewalks the carriage was completely demolished: but the horse dashed onward at a furious rate of speed, until he tired himself out, or concluded that he was making a fool of himself.

The buggy was torn into a hundred pieces, and can scarcely be put together again without incurring an expense quite equal to the cost of a new one.

Nobody hurt.
