Important from Mexico.
Triumphant Entry of Santa Anna into the City—Great Rejoicing Ordered.

New Orleans, May 26—The steamer Orizaba has arrived from Vera Cruz with City of Mexico dates of the 18th inst. Santa Anna made a triumphant entry into the City, on the 16th, and general rejoicings were ordered to continue for three days on account of his victory over Alvarez after the abandonment of the siege of Acapulco.

An account from Gen. Banco, says that Santa Anna's troops stormed Mount Peregrino on one side, and drove the rebel forces down the other. All the accounts are from the Government journals, and it is difficult to ascertain the truth.

News of the passage of the Gadsden treaty, had been received at Vera Cruz on the 11th.
