"El Centro will be in happy Yule garb."
Housewives are busy getting out the lights and decorations stored away two years ago and without extra or added installations, are making their homes and yards beautiful.
The announcement that use of present installations and equipment will not interfere with war efforts and that there is no restriction on using what they have, has released a pent-up longing to spread Christmas cheer by beautification of homes all over the city.
It expressly is urged that only light clusters now at hand be used. Any form of electrical equipment, such as sockets, wire and the like is needed otherwise. Other types of decorations which will make the front window or the decorated tree in the front yard more attractive as far as available are approved.
Many families are competing in the way of working out new decorative programs with material available and already the effects are attractive. Since there will be no prizes awarded this year, this family or neighborhood competition in "genius" is gaining in incentive and results.
The time is short. Let's speed things along.
