FIFTEEN STUDENTS OF HIGH SCHOOL WILL GRADUATE THIS YEAR
CLASS BALL ON MAY 3D
Prepare for Class Play on Wednesday, May 8th.
The schools of Independent School District No. 4 will close May 24th and a class of 15 will graduate from the high schools.
The members of the graduating class have elected officers as follows: president, Everett Luse; vice president, Harold McNally; secretary and treasurer, Amy Fry; sergeant-at-arms, Rex Norton; faculty advisor, Mrs. E. M. Flood. Following are the names of the members of the class of 1918: Everett Luse, Harold McNally, Veona Johnston, Berdine Gines, Amy Fry, Constance Fry, Marguerite Loughney, Hugo Riser, Thomas Gleed, Marie Irving, William Peterson, Lucian Daufau, Edith Welch, Rex Norton, Dean Norton.
The members of the graduating class are now preparing for the usual program of entertainments in connection with the completion of their high school work. The annual junior ball was recently given in honor of the seniors and now the seniors have arranged to give their ball at the Knights of Pythias hall on May 3rd and the committee on invitations, Miss Veona Johnston and Miss Berdine Gines, are planning to send about 200 invitations. Dean Norton and Thomas Gleed compose the committee in charge of the music and hall; Rex Norton, Constance Fry and Berdine Gines have charge of the decorations.
On May 8th the members of the class of 1918 will give a class play at the Amazon theatre. There are 13 in the cast and a very enjoyable entertainment is assured. Two comedies will be presented, the first a skit entitled "The Red Lamp" and the second, a comedy in three acts, is entitled, "The Elopement of Ellen."
Silver and gold have been chosen for the class colors; the lilly of the valley is the class flower and the class motto is "'Impossible' is Un-American."
