Diabolical effect of the Embargo.
The evils of this measure are now finding their way into the sanctum sanctorum of Christianity. There was no church on Sunday last, and the crowd who had collected to receive the blessings of the pulpit, trembled for their sin worn souls at the non-appearance of their Redeemer. they could not divine what had become of their Parsons; some suggested one thing, and some, another, and all was consternation, until it was gravely concluded by all, that it was no wonder--'twas certainly the Embargo.
