CHEERING!—ALL'S WELL!

We receive from all parts of the State the most gratifying intelligence of the prospects of the Democratic party. The legislation of last winter particularly on the banking question—receives the most cordial approbation of our political friends. This is highly gratifying, and premonitory of a glorious triumph in the fall campaign.

But how is it with our opponents? They are crest-fallen, and almost without hope. Their coon skins, fandangoes, and cider guzzlings have all become obsolete. They have not one single political hobby left to ride upon! The expectation of divisions among the Democratic members of the late Legislature on the banking question, which the Whigs nursed so affectionately for a time, now stings them with disappointment. That was near the only consolation for the woful defeat of last Oct. Cheap consolation! They vainly flattered themselves that the Democracy would commit some egregious blunder, which would throw a sufficient amount of political capital into the hands of the Whigs to carry them through the next campaign with flying colors. But in this they have been most signally disappointed. The Democratic ship sailed gallantly on, braving the tempest, and arrived safely at her destination, with the banner of Democracy bearing the inscription, "Individual Responsibility of Bankers—safe Banks, or none" waving at her masthead. The people are satisfied, and respond Amen!

The indomitable Democracy of New Hampshire have achieved a glorious victory over the combined forces of Federalism, and its affectionate ally, Conservatism. The sterling Democrats of the Granite State deserve the thanks of the Union for their fearless and gallant defence of Democratic principles. Their recreant and heartless enemies, who split off from the Democratic party, and plotted its destruction, have earned for themselves infinite disgrace.

The great Democratic party is marching onward with invincible determination, and nothing can arrest or check its progress until the principles of equal and exact justice pervade and control the legislation of every State in the Union. Weak brethren may tremble, and corrupt ambition may cling to ancient abuses, or plot disunion to promote selfish plans. These are but ripples on the stream; for the great body of the Democracy will continue to move onward. This great truth has been well exemplified in this and other States, and with instructive force in the late contest in New Hampshire, the happy results of which will give joy and encouragement to the advocates of true Democracy throughout the Union. The Isaac Hill Conservatives (claiming to be the old fashioned Democracy) denounced the great mass of the party those who stood firm to their principles—as "Destructives, "Radicals" "Barn-burners" "Dictators," and like epithets, which a certain class of politicians are fond of pilfering from the filthy vocabulary of the Whigs.
