Dangerous Counterfeit.
The Newbern News recently described a counterfeit $10 note on the Cape Fear Bank. The Fayetteville Observer says: Since that, we have seen one of them, not payable at the Branch at Greensborough, but at the Branch at Salem, and payable to I. G. Lash, the Cashier at that Branch. It is undoubtedly a most dangerous imitation of the genuine bill, and only to be detected by comparison with a genuine one. The S, in the Cashier's name is not well done, nor is the h, in the President's name. This one was sent here from Alamance county.
