HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
TUESDAY, Dec. 8.
The committee appointed yesterday to take into consideration the Governor's address, and report to the house an arrangement of the sundry matters therein contained, made report, which was read as follows, viz.
Resolved, That committees be appointed on the several subjects respectively contained in said address, viz.
1. On that part thereof relative to the Judiciary &c.
2. On the revision of the election law of this state.
3. On the introduction of a permanent election law for the purpose of the federal government.
4. On the improvement of the militia law.
5. On the institution of public schools.
6. On establishing a form of action for prosecuting suits against this state.
7. On the regulation of juries.
8. On the situation of the jail in Philadelphia, and the removal of convicts from the different counties of the state to the city.
9. On the health law.
10. On the propriety of enabling aliens to purchase and hold lands in the same manner as citizens.
11. On the propriety of extending the time for patenting lands.
12. On the improvement of the navigation of the river Susquehanna.
13. On appropriations for the current year, and
On motion, and by special order, the said report was read the second time, and the resolution adopted.
