Miss Dorothy Saltonstall returned Monday evening to Providence, R. I., following a week-end at her home.

Miss Margaret Bosworth and school friend spent the week-end and holiday at the Bosworth home. Both are students at Lasalle Junior College at Auburndale, Mass.

East Putnam

Returns From Hospital

Mrs. Willard Larrow is home from the hospital after an appendectomy operation at the Day Kimball Hospital. She is recuperating very favorably. Edith Bowen and Mary Curvey are staying with her.

Rev. L. Herman Hanson will conduct the service next Sunday as usual. The time will be 10 a. m. Eastern War Time, until further notice. There will also be Sunday School at the same time.

Mrs. Florence Burley of Killingly Avenue. Putnam. spent Sunday afternoon with Rev. and Mrs. L. Herman Hanson.

Rev. and Mrs. L. Herman Hanson. Mrs. Lena Hanson and Mrs. Florence Burley and Elaine Hanson attended special Lenten services at the Congregational Church in Putnam Sunday evening.

William Hay visited his mother in Lawrence. Mass., over the week-end

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Watson and children, Jean and Jacky, of Ballouville were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Hayden.

Private Walter Pray of Camp Michie was home Sunday, He also called on his mother. Mrs. Frank Pray, who is seriously ill with pneumonia.

Improving at Hospital

Mrs. Henry Bowen is on the gain at the Day Kimball Hospital and expects to be able to sit up soon.

Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Rondeau of Greenville, R. I., visited Mrs. Willard Larrow Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lovejoy of Bridgeton, R. I., visited Mr. and Mrs. Willard Larrow Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Pellet and son Clayton of Danielson visited Mr and Mrs. Lloyd Cutler Sunday. They also took an auto trip to Providence.

Personals

Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Cutler and sons, Ellsworth J. and Robert, took an auto trip to Hartford Sunday.

Reuben Shekleton and Kenneth Lass went to Windsor Monday. Kenneth expects to spend part of his vacation this week there.

Mrs. Cora Shekleton spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jason Cutler. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Shekleton of East Killingly called Sunday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. G. Mortimer Burrill visited Mrs. Florence Bailey Shippee in East Killingly Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Stidworthy of Providence visited Mr. and Mrs. John Davis Sunday

West Glocester

Return From Wedding Trip

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Daly returned from their wedding trip to New York City Sunday. Mrs. Daly was Miss Hannah Peal

Mrs. Jack Neuner of Mt. Vernon, N. Y., spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Flint.

There was a chimney fire at the Olde Cady Tavern Saturday night, but it was quickly extinguished by the Chepachet Fire Department.

Mr. and Mrs. Chester Reynolds of Oakland, R. I., visited Miss Almira and Miss Lucy Reynolds Sunday evening.

Miss Edna Thomas. William Quinn and Miss Christine Scott of Pawtucket, R. I.., called on the Peal family Sunday.

Mrs. Pat DeFusco is caring for Dr. Mason's two boys at Chicopee Falls, Mass., while Mrs. Dr. Mason is in the hospital. She recently gave birth to a daughter.

School Is Closed

The Clarkville District School closed last Friday for one week.

Miss Jane Peal attended the Lancaster Ski Championship meet in Boston Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Chapman and daughters, Ann and Pearl, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Carlson and son Eddie of Rocky Hill and Hartford respectively. visited Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hawkins Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Adams of Bellows Falls, Vt., Julius Tucker and son Julius Jr., of Brattleboro, Vt., Mr. and Mrs. Fountaine of Lowell, Mass., Mr. and Mrs. Louis Babbitt and family and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Babbitt and son of Worcester. and Mr. and Mrs. Burt Beckwith of Morningdale, Mass., and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Babbitt of North Grosvenordale visited Fred Babbitt, Mrs. Tucker and Mrs. Rowe Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hawkins were in Providence Tuesday. Mrs. Stella Bowen of Putnam and Mrs. Wallace Blood of East Putnam spent Wednesday with Mrs. Henry Hawkins.

Mrs. Walter Hawkins visited Mrs. Wallace Blood in East Putnam Monday.
