SPRINGVILLE NEWS NOTES.
Election to Be Held on Thursday to Vote on Bond Issue.
Springville, Feb. 10.-The city council met in special session last evening to appoint judges of election to vote on a bond issue for electric light and power proposition, which will take place Thursday next. P. E. Houtz, N. H. Packard and E. M. Boyer were appointed judges. The recorder was instructed to provide ballot box, tickets, stationery, etc., necessary for the use of the judges and voters.
Councilman Boyer was instructed to obtain the services of A. J. Evans and his electrician of Lehi to explain the manipulation of the American Fork plant for the benefit of the citizens tomorrow evening at the public meeting.
The petition of Oscar Rarall for a location for a restaurant stand was granted.
Councilman Boyer made a brief report of his findings upon visiting the American Fork plant. The peculiar position in which Councilman T. E. Child had just recently placed himself was discussed upon his request. The other councilmen were favorable to his retaining his position. Much will depend upon the position Mr. Child takes, however, when he is placed upon the witness stand in the gambling case hanging over him, as to whether the people will allow him to retain his place in the council.
