"The King of Prussia left his camp at Great Dobritz last Tuesday night, and marched in three columns for Silesia, in order to preserve that country from falling into the hands of his enemies. They write from Dresden, that M. Daun was no sooner informed of the motions of the Prussians, than he detached a large body of troops to Silesia, in order to support Gen. Laudohn: other accounts say, that the Marshal himself was preparing to follow the Prussians with his whole army. We have received a very circumstantial account of the barbarities committed by the Austrians at the taking of Landshut, after the defeat of Gen. Fouquet, which is too shocking to relate, however, one circumstance of their inhumanity cannot be omitted, viz. their putting 98 Burghers to the sword, in the most cruel manner, soon after they entered the town."
