Southern Assembly at Durant Discuss Proposal all Yesterday.
Durant, Okla., May 20. The entire afternoon session of the Southern Presbyterian church's general assembly here was taken up with discussion of the question of the union of that church with the Northern Presbyterian church. Discussion of the matter continued at the night session, and a hope was expressed that some agreement would be reached tonight.
A majority and minority report of the special committee appointed to consider the question of the union was presented this morning. The majority report opposed the union. The minority report merely recommended that neither organic nor federal union be considered at this time.
