Tobacco Princess Judges' Task Friday
Finding Winner Among 26 Contestants

Politics and beauty may mix at the Tobacco festival beauty pageant sponsored by the Junior Woman's club at Jarman hall Friday at 8 p. m.

Mayor W. C. Fitzpatrick will open the program by introducing the three judges. Delegate John H. Daniel, Dr. Margaret Pennington and Orville M. Lee.

Roy Lamont, known to the teen-aged set for his television "Teen-Age Party" and "Roy Lamont Show," broadcast over a Richmond station each week, will be master of ceremonies.

Lamont attended Seton Hall University and the University of Alabama and did professional stage work in New York. He will also appear at the dance at the Moose hall to be held following the pageant.

Dance Follows

The winner of the contest will represent Farmville in the ninth annual Tobacco festival in Richmond in October, when she will compete for the title of "Miss Tobaccoland." Current "Miss Farmville" title holder is Mrs. Clark Lowe, the former Betty Spencer.

Intermission entertainment will be provided by Barbara Jean Trear, pianist, and Ed Weinberg, Emma Garnett Hicks, Buddy Smith, Mary Doyne, Kent Carter, Ann Scott Thompson, Jimmy Craft and Sarah Dunkum: dancers.

Winner's Prizes

The three outfits which will be presented to the new "Miss Farmville" will be modeled. The winner will also receive cash prizes and expenses, for a trip to Richmond for the pageant. Winner of the "Queen of Tobaccoland" title during the Richmond festival will receive a $1000 scholarship for use at an accredited school.
