By a Gentleman now in Town, who came from St. Eustatia about 20 Days ago, we are informed, that just before he left that Island, a Vessel came in from Martinico, and brought an Account, that there were at that Place 7 Ships of the Line and 5 Frigates, and that by the Preparations then making, there seemed to be some grand Expedition in Hand: That they had collected together all the Cattle upon the Island fit for drawing, and that 'twas generally thought they designed to attack the Island of St. Christopher, where all the Whites and 2000 Negroes were under Arms.

By the same Gentleman we are informed, that 2 of the French Men of War that had been on the Coast of Guinea, were arrived at Martinico, and had brought in with them between 40 and 50 English Prisoners taken on the Guinea Coast, with 1100 Slaves, and a vast Quantity of Gold Dust, Elephant's Teeth, &c.
