COMMUNICATED.

A CANDID ACKNOWLEDGEMENT.

There were always grounds for suspicion that certain individuals had ulterior views in their support of Gen. Harrison to the Presidency, but it was not expected the fact should be so candidly avowed as it appears in the notice of the meeting at Hildreth's last evening, which reads in part thus; "a meeting will be held"&c. for the "purpose of taking measures to promote the views of those who are favorable to the selection of Gen. Harrison to the next Presidency." Are not those Whigs pretty fellows to talk of office hunting and the spoils of victory. Quere. Do the entire corps of this disinterested portion of Gen. Harrison's friends reside in the SECOND WARD.
