DOUGLAS, Dec. 19.—When T. J. Leeson, well known valley merchant, and rancher, and Douglas bank director, motored down from MeNeal yesterday afternoon for a short stay, of course he dropped into the Gadsden lobby—every visitor does that no matter how short his stay.
While talking to a friend at the desk his eye accidentally fell on the register, and then Mr. Leeson registered great surprise—for the book contained the name of George E. Leeson, Regina, Canada.
It was Mr. Leeson's brother, whom he had not seen for many years, and he had come to Douglas unannounced and intending to slip up to MeNeal and surprise his brother. T. J. decided he would turn the tables, so he concealed himself near the elevator and a few moments later when the Canadian brother stepped out he was greeted with a resounding whack on the back, only to look around and be greeted by his brother.
Needless to say it was a happy reunion, and a few hours later the brothers left for MeNeal.
George E. Leeson, along with two other brothers, served with the Canadian army in Europe during the entire war. He was wounded three times, each time so seriously that he had to spend months in the hospital, but he always got back into the fighting.
All three of the brothers went through some of the fiercest fighting of the war, including Ypres and the Somme. All three came out of the war as officers and two of them were decorated for conspicuous gallantry in action, Prince Edward decorating one during his recent visit to Canada.
The visiting brother will spend some time here and later the other brothers will also come to McNeal for a visit.
