The States of Holland, in their assembly of Thursday last, having received from the Council Committee a communication of the orders lately given by the Council of State, as well to the garrison of this place as to General Van Ryffel, and other commanders of troops, not to march into the territory of any other province without the consent of such province, they rendered that affair comisional before the Grand Committee.
Upon the proposal of the personal committee, the States of Holland have thought proper to order General Van Ryffel to dispense with the services of all those officers who shall be found to have communicated to the Council of State, the orders which had been given them. They for the same reason have dispensed with the services, till further orders, by a majority of 12 voices, of Col. Baron Van Duin, of the regiment of dragoons, of Byland; Colonel A. H. Comte de Rechteren, of the regiment of horse of Hesse Philipsstall, and the Lieutenant Colonel W. J. de Hogenheim, of the regiment of this Lieutenant General de Hardenbrook. The States of Holland have appointed M. C. Clarion, Capt. Commandant in the second battalion of the regiment of Major General Grenier, to be Aid de Camp to General Van Ryffel.
The association formed here, under the name of the truly Patriotic Society, goes on with great forces, and increases daily very much, by the addition of several persons of distinction and principal Burghers. Thus the report of many of the members of the said society having drawn out their names is entirely false.
