Relief For The Brave Soldiers.

The loyal people of California and Washoe are again moving to afford relief to the brave soldiers who are wounded and disabled on the battle-field. In San Francisco, a Committee, called the Soldiers Relief Committee, has been founded and makes an appeal to the people of California in behalf of the wounded and suffering soldiers. Heretofore, California has sent half a million of dollars-and a subscription has again been started, which the California Steam Navigation Company heads with $3,000, followed by Donohoe Ralston & Co., and Wells, Fargo & Co., with $3,000 each, and thirteen other firms with $1,000 each. The total subscriptions already foot up to a neat sum, and we doubt not the Sanitary Fund will be raised to a handsome figure in that State. A movement is now set on foot in Gold Hill, Silver City, and Virginia, to raise subscription in behalf of this truly laudable object, and we feel confident the appeal will not be in vain. Perhaps there is no community on the face of God's earth whose hearts are more open to the demands of charity, benevolence, and to patriotic calls, than the people in Washoe. We feel confident that if this laudable object is only urged, that Silverland will again respond most nobly in bricks of bullion, such as have already given her a character for benevolence and patriotism among the brave and noble, who are fighting the battles of our dear country. We make the following extract from an address of the Sanitary Committee:

The war will continue beyond this year. The reserve fund from the Pacific donations will be exhausted in January, and the needs of sick and wounded soldiers will be no less pressing than during the past year. It is not the Sanitary Commission, it is the blood and pain of the defenders of our prosperity and honor, our nation and flag, from which this appeal comes for a fresh contribution. So long as the war lasts we cannot be released from the duty of relieving the privation and agony endured for our common and sacred cause.
