Full Text
The C. A. Wortham Shows, one of the largest carnival aggregations of the country, and which has visited Laredo on former occasions and established a good reputation by their attractions during former Washington Birthday Anniversary celebrations, rolled into Laredo on a special train over the Texas-Mexican road from Alice late yesterday afternoon and at once began unloading their equipment on the vacant block south of the old Texas-Mexican station building between Flores and Convent Avenues.
Today the erection of tents, booths, etc., has caused an animated scene about the grounds, as there was much hustle to get everything in readiness for the grand opening which takes place tonight. There are many new attractions with the carnival this year and the management assures the people that there are no shows which families cannot visit and be pleased with. The carnival will continue until the night of February 23.
