Full Text
If three Republicans in Baltimore county had laid their heads together and put up such a nice little job as did three Democrats, which the balance of their party was compelled to submit to, as evidenced by the convention here on Monday, our neighbor of the Journal would have put on an extra quantity of war-paint and with a new supply of feathers he would have danced around with tomahawk in hand and made an awful racket about the unheard of usurpations, &c. But three gentlemen of his own party are the culpable ones in this case and he looks on and smiles with a benignity truly wonderful. A good many other people didn't smile, as was clearly shown by the great difficulty experienced in keeping a number of the delegates from kicking over the traces on Monday.
