LAND SCRIP LOCATIONS.

Mr. King Says Bill Concerning the Same Will Pass This Session.

[SPECIAL TO THE "NEWS"]
Washington, D. C., Jan. 29.—Representative King said today that the bill for the location of certain land scrip in the name of Antonine Lapierre and others in Salt Lake City would pass this session. Mr. King attempted to have the bill considered today but objection was made at this time by Representative Grosvenor. Chas. Weitfel has been appointed postmaster at Rudy, Fremont county, Idaho, vice Wm. Richards, resigned. J. Downing of Salt Lake is here and Representative King today had inserted in the agricultural bill an appropriation for the continuance of the soil survey in Utah. The amount to be expended is $50,000.
