FIRST INSTITUTIONAL BAPTIST NEWS
By James L. Davis

Last Sunday was a red letter day at First Institutional Baptist Church, 1141 East Jefferson Street. At 6:00 a. m. a building fund rally, sponsored by the older members group and the Texas Club of the church, sparked off the day with a highly inspirational sermon by Rev. C. N. Hall, pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

The Mt. Calvary choir led the congregational singing beautifully. $210.00 was raised in this service.

At 11:00 a.m. and at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Kendrick preached powerful sermons. 11 people joined the church. At 3:00 p.m. 8 candidates were baptised. The spirit was high all day.

Pastor Kendrick announced that he, Mrs. Kendrick and Barbara Ann were leaving on a vacation which he said they all needed. He said Mrs. Kendrick needed it the most and this is the best time for Barbara to go because of vacation from school. They plan to attend the national convention in Chicago and other cities are to be visited.

Rev. Kendrick asked the members to be loyal to their church and attend the services. We have a great program.
