Event Details
Deerfield is one of the best agricultural towns in the State, about 9 miles square, formerly part of Nottingham. People engaged in shoe business from Lynn and Haverhill, but it has been dull for a year or two, turning attention to farming. Less waste land than average New Hampshire towns. This year good crop returns, particularly fruit. Mrs. E. G. Chase has splendid Hubbardston and Baldwin apples, pears, grapes, and Flemish Beauties.
