LOS ANGELES (AP)--Approximately 450 Los Angeles newspaper workers were looking for new jobs today after suspension of publication by the Daily News, a morning paper.
Operations at the Daily News Building came to a halt Saturday with the announcement by Publisher Clinton D. McKinnon that the paper, undergoing financial difficulties, has sold its name, goodwill, circulation lists and features to the Times-Mirror Co., which publishes the morning Times and afternoon Mirror.
The suspension of the Daily News reduces the number of metropolitan papers in Los Angeles from five to four. The Daily News was the only Democratic newspaper in this field.
