Full Text

ATLANTIS.

The weed has thrown its shadow on
the flower.
The fingers of
the sun let go the
hour,
And all across
the valley floor the
throats of evening tremble in the feathered
notes.

Farmhouse windows catch the signal
flashes
As the light retreats beyond the far-
thest hill.
By river banks the first of darkness
splashes.
Now sound has fled and left the val-
ley still.

Slowly the darkness fills the valley
Until it holds the night-tide like a
cup.
Slowly the trees dissolve, and then
the lawn,
Until we stand alone; the valley
gone.
