LEADS EASTER

Joining in the first nation-wide EASTER SEAL Parade, several Newington housewives and other civic volunteers will contact one hundred or more homes in a door-to-door canvass on Saturday, April 2, for the benefit of the Hartford Rehabilitation Center, Greater Hartford's Easter Seal Agency. The Newington quota for the 1960 Easter Seal drive is $2,000.
Newington is the first community in the Greater Hartford area to participate in the initial unified series of Easter Seal Parades which are scheduled in 150 communities across the nation. Some 250,000 volunteers in 30 states will initiate this new Easter Seal program.
Newington Easter Parade workers will personally contact individuals throughout the area in place of the usual direct-mail Easter Seal appeal used in past years. Send-Back envelopes and information folders will be left at homes where personal calls are unanswered.
Chairman of the Newington Parade will be Mrs. E. Curtis Ambler, known for her church and civic activities. Assisting Mrs. Ambler will be Miss Caroline Benson, Mrs. Hubert Elliott, Mrs. Thompson Harlow, Mrs. Robert Lienhard, Mrs. Harold Sprague and Mrs. John Wilcox.
Among areas to be covered will be Seventh Street, Eighth Street, Monte Vista Avenue, Hazelmere Court and Prince Avenue.
