O G C. Collins. Esq, of Philadelphia a gentleman of distinguished ability,—who in 1840, and again in 1844, traveled the whole Union in behalf of the whig Cause. (making in the last campaign 231 speeches and expending $5000 to secure the triumph of our adversaries) addressed a democratic meeting at Rahway, N. Jersey, a few days ago he stated that He HAD A LETTER FROM HENRY CLAY IN HIS POSSESSION, EXPRESSING HIS OPINION THAT GEN TAY DID NOT POSSESS THE ABILITY TO DISCHARGE THE DUTIES OF THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT!
